Expert Physiotherapy on
Auckland's North Shore

North Shore Physiotherapy is a physiotherapy clinic based inside Anytime Fitness Takapuna, on Auckland's North Shore. We focus on what we do best: expert assessment and rehabilitation for lower limb conditions, sports injuries, and shoulder pain.

Our clinic combines the clinical expertise of an advanced masters-level physiotherapist with the practical advantage of a fully equipped gym environment. This means your rehabilitation can seamlessly progress from hands-on treatment to supervised strength and movement training, all under one roof.

We’re proud to be an ACC registered provider and Southern Cross affiliated, making quality physiotherapy accessible and affordable. We offer appointments six days a week, including early mornings, evenings, and Saturdays, because we know recovery doesn’t always fit neatly into a 9-to-5 schedule.

We believe great physiotherapy starts with listening. Every treatment plan is built around your goals, your lifestyle, and your body.

Your Physiotherapist

Meet Chris — Your Expert Physiotherapist

Chris qualified as a physiotherapist in the UK in 2007 and has since built 19 years of clinical experience across the NHS, private practice, and advanced specialist roles.

After graduating, Chris spent 11 years working in the NHS and 9 years in private practice, gaining extensive experience treating conditions across the whole body. He went on to take up two advanced clinical roles that set him apart from most physiotherapists:

Advanced Hip & Knee Practitioner

Working directly alongside orthopaedic consultants, Chris assessed, diagnosed, and managed complex hip and knee conditions. This role required a higher level of clinical reasoning, diagnostic accuracy, and independent decision-making than standard physiotherapy practice.

First Contact Practitioner

As an NHS First Contact Practitioner, Chris was the first point of contact for patients with musculoskeletal complaints, a role that requires advanced assessment skills and the ability to determine appropriate treatment pathways, including referrals for imaging or specialist review.

Chris also holds a Masters degree in Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, completed in 2017, and has undertaken post-graduate training in soft tissue release, taping, lower limb biomechanics, running rehabilitation, hip rehabilitation, and kneecap pain management.

Since moving to New Zealand, Chris has worked in a clinical lead role at Habit Health and now brings his specialist expertise to North Shore Physiotherapy. He has a particular passion for helping patients with knee and hip conditions, sports injuries, and lower limb rehabilitation.

Outside the clinic, Chris enjoys the gym, running, and ocean swimming around Auckland’s beautiful coastline.
